Much to the regret of all fans, the series "Dark Angel" was canceled after only two seasons and the production was ultimately stopped by the US television network FOX. Since another season had apparently been intended before, important storylines could not be finished in time and many questions remained unanswered due to the sudden decision. In short, Dark Angel was put to an end before it was completed with regard to its content.

That is why, some loyal fans decided to keep "Dark Angel" alive by writing inofficial sequels to the series on their own. Quite a number of "virtual" episodes of impressive quality have been created over the years. Especially, the professional work of the "Cape Haven Writers Group" is noteworthy because it continues the series in a befitting manner. Its members were the first who began writing a virtual third season in 2002.

By the way, it should be mentioned that, in parallel to the fanfiction development, two books by Max A. Collins, entitled "Skin Game" and "After The Dark", were released in 2003. These books contain the official conclusion of the series. They have nothing to do with the virtual seasons and, hence, tell a totally different continuation which is claimed to be based on the third season planed before cancelation. However, the story told in the books unfortunately has some flaws. Therefore, many fans consider the fanfictions to be better.

Virtual Season 3 (2002-2003)

After the end of "Dark Angel", some fans founded the "Cape Haven Writers Group" with the objective to create an own "virtual" third season. It starts where the television series ended and contains 22 episodes released in multiple languages. More information can be found on the website of "Virtual Dark Angel".

Virtual Season 4 (2005)

After the huge success of the virtual third season, many fans hoped for more sequel episodes by the "Cape Haven Writers Group" ("Virtual Dark Angel"). Robert's Virtual Season 4 (2004)

Robert, a huge "Dark Angel" fan from Austria, decided to write a virtual fourth season. The result comprises 15 episodes that are based on the events of the virtual third season by the "Cape Haven Writers Group". These episodes are in German language only.
